    Philips Executive Pro version 5

This version started with a USB license dongle. This dongle was capable of plugging other devices into the end of it. We do not recommend this.

If you are receiving an error 'no valid license available' try shutting the PC down without the device plugged in, change USB port (restart with no device plugged in). If you have another dongle in the office try exchanging it.

If you have bought from us please call us if you have tried all of the above.

In later versions of 5, the license was called 'smart key'. The license is a short USB key, it looks like a memory stick.

The smart key when plugged in will glow RED, ORANGE or GREEN.

RED = No license on key

Orange = License has been downloaded. In the case of an emergency you use the 30 day license key that remains and send the key into us.

Green = Full license remains on the key

    Philips Executive Pro version 6

The smart key has the same LED colour code (see above)

If you do not see any colour, remove the key for 5 minutes and then try again.

You can not use a version 5 key with version 6 software.

Always keep up to date with the latest version from PHILIPS.

We do have a program that will send out updates via CD if you wish. You need to have a current service agreement.

    Dictation Property Configuration Wizard

    Platform: Windows 7, Vista, XP
    Latest version: 2011/08/25

Dictation properties provide various types of information about a dictation, for example, Dictation length, Author, Priority. Some dictation properties are filled in by the system and some require input by a user. SpeechExec is delivered with a set of default dictation properties. These properties are stored in the dictation properties configuration file. The Dictation Property Configuration Wizard is for editing the dictation properties configuration file (.xml file).

With this tool you can do the following:

    • Change the label (the displayed property name) of any dictation property. For example, Title could be changed to Case number.
    • Define which properties are mandatory. This means that the user who works on the dictation must fill in all properties defined as mandatory.
    • Define which properties are editable by which user role. For example, you might want transcriptionists to be able to add information in the Comments property.
    • Adding and deleting additional custom dictation properties. For example, you might want to add a work type property.

Modify the mapping of DPM Keywords with SpeechExec dictation properties. For example, DPM Keyword 3 is associated by default with the SpeechExec dictation property Comment. You can modify this mapping so that the DPM Keyword 3 is associated with a custom added dictation property Patient ID.

  • New SpeechMike Air Firmware V 1.18 in Philips Executive Pro - General questions
    1 Dec 2011  | 0 Comments

This new firmware includes the following enhanced features..

    • REDUCED POWER CONSUMPTION - this new firmware version can extend the utilization time without recharging by up to 30%. The SpeechMike Air now has a usage time of 10 hours.
    • IMPROVED BATTERY CHARGING - compared to previous firmware versions the batteries are now immediately recharged when inserting the SPEECHMIKE AIR into the AIRPORT cradle.
    • NEW RECHARGING WARNING TONE - To ensure battery recharging, a new recharging warning tone can be heard when inserting the SpeechMike Air into the AIRPORT cradle. This signals that the SpeechMike Air has been completely docked and prevents the unit accidentally not being recharged if incorrectly or not fully inserted into the AIRPORT cradle.
    • FAKE HALF DUPLEX MODE - To suppress distortions ( for example those caused by system notifications) the playback path is muted during recording.
    • IMPROVED DRAGON NATURALLYSPEAKING SUPPORT - Dragon NaturallySpeaking users sometimes reported a delayed output of recognized text when used in conjunction with a SpeechMike Air.
This could occur during the very first recording after Dragon was started and if frequent RECORD/STOP actions were carried out. This has been solved by improvements in the switch click suppression of the SpeechMike Air.
    • PREVENTION OF SPURIOUS OUT OF RANGE WARNINGS - Some programs (especially remote desktop software) could cause the SpeechMike Air to emit an out-of-range warning even when the SpeechMike Air was within range of the AirBridge. Firmware 1.18 now provides a much more robust wireless connection compared to previous firmware versions.

A MORE POSTIVE BUTTON EVENT RESPONSE - Under rare circumstances no or too many button events might be sent to the PC.
Firmware 1.18 ensures that all button events coming from the SpeechMike Air are correctly transferred to the PC.
